Description

Jhoola Geet is a light green Tussar silk saree, hand painted from border to pallu in traditional Madhubani art. Tussar is known for its natural sheen, rich texture and breathable drape, and the soft green base gives the hand painted motifs a fresh, calm backdrop. Every motif is painted by hand, so no two pieces are ever exactly alike.

Design

Jhoola Geet means "swing songs", the folk songs sung on monsoon swings, and the saree's light green recalls the first rains and new leaves. Madhubani painting is a centuries-old art form from the Mithila region of Bihar. It is known for fine line work, bold colours and motifs drawn from nature and folklore. On Jhoola Geet, each stroke is placed by hand on the fabric, so you wear a piece of living folk heritage.

Care

Dry clean only. Store folded in a soft muslin cloth and keep away from direct sunlight and moisture, so the hand painted colours stay vibrant.
