Description

Angna is a blush pink Tussar silk saree, hand painted from border to pallu in traditional Madhubani art. Tussar is known for its natural sheen, rich texture and breathable drape, and the soft pink base gives the hand painted motifs a gentle, graceful backdrop. Every motif is painted by hand, so no two pieces are ever exactly alike.

Saree length: 5.5 m

Every saree takes 20 days to come to life, woven and painted entirely by hand.

Design

Angna means courtyard, the heart of a traditional Indian home where families gather, festivals are celebrated and rangoli is drawn at the threshold.

Madhubani painting is a centuries-old art form from the Mithila region of Bihar. It is known for fine line work, bold colours and motifs drawn from nature and folklore. On Angna, each stroke is placed by hand on the fabric, so you wear a piece of living folk heritage.

Care

Dry clean only. Store folded in a soft muslin cloth and keep away from direct sunlight and moisture, so the hand painted colours stay vibrant.
